Genealogy

For the past week we have been working on Judy's genealogy. We found that when you come to a standstill, just talk to friends that you have known for years and years or have worked with for years. One friend will give a name and that name leads to who you are searching for. We found that people we set near a ball games are doing genealogy on another side of our family. All we needed was someone to lead us to those people. Our son's company even employed people we were looking for; one son even work with people we were searching for; I even work with a man for 40 years that had information I needed. This world is becoming smaller and smaller when you work genealogy. The leafs and turning faster and faster now.

Last boat ride

It is that time of the year for our sons to remove their boats. Son Skip gave everyone one more ride as we headed for the ramp where our son-law Bart was ready to load the boats. Judy is standing next to the ramp to give directions. Judy's sister Elaine passed away Friday.

About time to dry dock the boats

We went down to the lake to ride for the last time this year with our daughter Shelley and son Skip before they pull their boats out of the water for the winter. Shelley and Bart had friends, Tom and Brenda along for the day. We seen Gino Colace, an old friend on his boat chasing after us. Then our son Skip took us back to dock. You could not ask for a better day to finish off the boating season.

Bad or slow week with good times

For the pass two weeks we drove around the state looking at different water falls. We would like to add a pondless water falls to the area of the swimming pool that was filled in with dirt. High winds in the range of 70 mph hit our town. Power lines are down and we have been told that the power will be off for a week. Knowing that we drove to Celina, Ohio at the county fair grounds visited with Karen and Ernie Brown who are full time campers, Browns treated for lunch.

Saturday night we went to our granddaughters home for a cook out with family and friends to complete Whitneys graduation. Sunday afternoon we all met at the lake for boating. Daughter Shelley showed her skills with handling a "Ski Doo" then watched her son Brent with his skills. Later that night we had supper at our son Steve and his family. Monday we took Bill and Millie Spellman to Lake Erie to meet with another son Sam and Linda for a visit then to lunch. Later we feed the fish.

Christmas in July

Pleasent Hill Lake had a Christmas in July with fireworks. We had family and friends for a picnic and boating. Our son Skip used his classic 1963 25 foot Lyman and our daughter and her husband Bart used their pontoon boat to take all of us out on the lake to watch the fireworks. Our grandson handled the dock line for the boats.

Sandusky, Ohio

After returning from Canada we stopped for two nights at Cold Creek Trout Camp that is situated along the banks of Cold Creek. The creek surges directly from the "Blue Hole", a large cavernous spring which, mysteriously, seems to have no bottom. The water in the creek is a constant 48 degrees year round.

Returning to United States from Canada

We had no problem with the US Customs on our return. The biggest problem was the 100's of others wishing to return. Lanes were closed while agents handcuff and took somebody away and the heavy rain. The agent we got was female who boarded us for inspection. The view is just one half of the 100's crossing the border, we are back 6 vehicles from the gate.

One of 30 Walleye, Tom's boat and Whitney

To Canada and back

We traveled to McGregor, Ontario a small town outside of Windsor. With us was our daughter, Shelley and her daughter Whitney. We stayed at Wildwood RV Resort. Our friends from Texas, Tom and Martha stay for the summer at this resort. Tom along with his friend Jim took all of us fishing for Walleye.
